Adding Personality to Your Professional Wardrobe

By Delee Cox

What comes to mind when I say ‘work wear’? Boring? Stuffy? Uncomfortable? Cooperate?

Well I want to help you break out of that box and add some personality to your work wardrobe. Here are three tips to add some spice to your stale, stuffy style.

1- Update your foot wear. Shoes are a great way to add some personality. Even if you work in a very cooperate environment, you can break fee from the plain pumps and boring basics. Try adding some color, print or interesting details. Choose something that feels like you.

2- Add a great blazer. Not just your typical blazer that came as a matching set, add something different. Add a pattern or different color. Even the most tradition slacks and button up combination can be elevated with a stand out blazer.

3- The devil is in the details. Adding simple details to your outfit can add a lot of personality. Try rolling up your sleeves and adding a great watch. Try adding a pocket square or a great earring. Try colorful socks or an interesting belt. Mix neutrals in interesting patterns or create a monochromatic look in your favorite color.

Sitting in a board room doesn’t mean you have to wear boring clothes. Level up your lack luster attire with these simple tips. Wear what you love and love what you wear.

About Delee Cox

I have always been inspired by beauty and fashion. I turned my passion into a career when I graduated from cosmetology school in 2003. After 13 years of being at home with my children I decided I wanted to go back to work and realized my passion had changed from styling hair to styling head to toe. I embraced the motto "just go for it!" and started my business at the beginning of 2020. My knowledge and passion came from my own experience of having a closet full of clothes but always wanting more, and my transition from fast fashion shopping addict to slow fashion advocate. I now help women all over the country discover their personal style and turn their closet full of clothes into a curated wardrobe.
